When I woke up Saturday morning, it was raining….. not that that worried me too much, being a film technician in Vancouver I was use to working in the rain. Today was a little different as I would be on the water and photographing for VARC – Deep Cove Yacht Club’s Regatta.
I have to be honest, it was my first regatta, although I do have water awareness being a Westcoast gal but today I was with skilled sailors.
These sea dogs have the ocean in their blood, it is part of who they are and a little bit of Deep Cove rainfall was not going to deter them. Everyone was up for a great day and a little adventure.
Before everyone sailed to the race site there were a few things that had to be checked and re-check.

Soon everyone was on their way to the race location. Patience was required, as wind was needed…… so in the meantime why not get a little tow around the inlet.

Hello wind…. and the race was on.

The day on the water was coming to an end. We headed back to the dock for some celebration and ale.
Here is the gang. Some folks did not make the group photo as the tides were a factor in them returning home and they needed to sail on.

I really enjoyed my day, the rain, the laughs and the people. I am a lucky gal to have such an awesome job.
A big shout out to the Sponsors and everyone who made it a fantastic event. A special shout out to Tom Corbeth for getting me involved.
